How to install Linux without USB pen-drive or CD | install Linux

hi in this article I will show you how to install Linux without cd DVD or USB I will install ubuntu 2010 on dual boot with windows 10 on UEFI mode before we start to stay up to date with my latest article please make sure to subscribe to my article by clicking the button on right side entering email and please stay tuned until the end of this article so you don't miss any steps let's get started

How to install Linux without USB pen-drive or CD | install Linux

Steps

the idea is to create a partition and copy the iso file on it and at the end boot on this partition to install Linux

Step1: In the first step you will download your favorite Linux distribution system I will download ubuntu 2010

Step2: to do this go to the ubuntu site click on download and wait for it to finish so in this step we are going to create two partitions the first is for bootable Linux the second is for your Linux system

Step3: my windows 10 version is professional open file explorer right click on this pc click on manage go to storage and click on disk management

Step4: now shrink your partition and create two new partitions you have to format the eight Giga partitions where you place the Linux installer

Step5: now download the universal USB installation tools to make the partition bootable you can find the link the below select the distribution select the downloaded ubuntu iso file

versions older than 2.0.0.3 from Click Me To Download

Step6: This step is very important to click on show all drives and you can view the small partition where you copy the ubuntu installer click on create click yes wait to finish

Step7: now your installation partition is created and we will move on to the next step which is to boot from it to install ubuntu

Step8: Restart your computer please focus on this step it's very important you would boot on the Ubuntu installer partition now we go to bios to disable the secure boot I have a hp laptop to launch the startup menu I select escape to check the boot menu key of your computer below in is a list of common boot keys associated to a brand

The list of common boot keys associated with a brand:

Asus

: F8 or Esc

Acer

: F12, F9 or Esc

Compaq

: F9 or Esc

Dell

: F12

eMachines

: F12

Fujitsu

: F12

HP

: F9 or Esc

Lenovo

: F8, F10 or F12

Samsung

: F2, F12 or Esc

Toshiba

: F12

 

Step9: go to advance and disable the secure boot and save your configuration 

Step10: now launch the boot menu and you will boot on the Ubuntu installer from the EFI file select boot from the file

Step11: select UI entry as the partition of the ubuntu installer select the EFI folder then boot now select boot 64. to boot on the Ubuntu installer in this step let's go to install ubuntu on dual boot click install ubuntu choose the keyboard layout and click continue

Step12: choose the starting applications now choose the free partition last time that you had shrink

Step13: before, I will install ubuntu with default partitioning click on the plus to create the partition

Step14: click continues to apply the change you'll be asked to write changes to disks click continue to proceed

Step15: Select the time zone and create a user account

Step16: Click continue to install ubuntu once the installer finishes, you'll be prompted to restart now

Step17: you should now have successfully installed ubuntu 2010 on your computer

Step18: although we just installed ubuntu the motherboard UEFI firmware is still configured to boot first on the windows boot manager for ubuntu to launch when you start your pc you must boot to gnu grub the Ubuntu to boot manager

Step19: we are therefore going to change the UEFI boot order and put grub in the first position.
